"For the Church of the 21st century, good ecology is not an optional extra but a matter of justice. It is therefore central to what it means to be a Christian"
Dr Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury

I didn't attend the last Earthing Faith Gathering because I was babysitting while Mark was one of the speakers. He was afterwards asked to talk on the same theme of exploring eco-theology at the Oxford Christian community hOME and the talk can be heard on their website.

Rather belatedly I'd like to mention - I was delighted to see that October's Xn magazine covered the wonderful news that St John Bosco's, Woodley were the first church in the country to receive CAFOD's Live Simply award. The magazine also advertised the first Owen Jewiss Memorial Lecture which was held on United Nations day at Owen's home church St Barnabas Church, Emmer Green. Again this was something I was unable to attend but glad to hear that it was strongly supported and that the plan is to hold future lectures in various locations in Reading.
